Philanthropy Programs

The Grateful Hearts Program is a way to recognize those who have provided exceptional care and support. Whether someone chooses to honor a staff member or an entire department, their donation is a meaningful way to show gratitude while supporting our programs and mission. Gifts donated may support resident care in areas of greatest need (unrestricted) or in a department or service of special meaning to the donor. Each gift can also be designated in honor or in memory of a staff member or a loved one. Brochures are located by the Foundation Office (Room 408) and near the front desk at the BSJ Care Center. You can also request brochures by emailing the BSJ Foundation Director, Megan Arnold at marnold@bsjcorp.com or by calling (608) 519-9778.Download PDF

What is the Resident Wish Program?

The Resident Wish Program is designed to bring smiles and joy to our residents and clients by granting them a special wish or request that they wouldn’t normally ask to receive.

What types of wishes are granted?

We try to grant all types of wishes. While we may not be able to grant every wish imaginable, we are able to grant most wishes that fall into one of the categories below:

  • A fun-filled wish.
  • A memory wish.
  • A one–last–time wish.
  • A needs–based wish.

Ways to Give

A tribute or memorial gift is a way to honor, recognize, or celebrate a person or event. This offers both the donor and the recognized – or bereaved family – the satisfaction of having made a lasting contribution to further the mission of BSJ Corporation. Tribute or memorial gifts can be given by selecting “Donate Online” above or by mail.

Please acknowledge who you are honoring and who to notify of the gift.

A designation donation is a gift that a donor directs to a specific program, project, or purpose within the BSJ Corporation. This type of donation allows you to select which campaign you would like your funds to be used for. Examples include Recreation Therapy, Staff Appreciation, Hair Care Fund, Resident Help Fund, etc. Designated donations can be given by selecting “Donate Online” above or by mail.

Please acknowledge which fund you would like your gift designated to.

A recurring gift is a gift made at regular intervals, such as monthly, quarterly, etc. This generally occurs over the course of a year to effectively add up to one large annual gift, however, can last as long as the donor chooses. Annual giving is also a great way to participate in recurring gifts.

To set up recurring gifts go to “Donate Online” above and change frequency to desired interval.

Donations of stocks and bonds are a great way to maximize your giving potential. Once you decide which stock or bond you would like to donate, contact us for more information on how to transfer the asset. Contact your local investment advisor to find out more on the tax benefits of donating stocks and bonds to a nonprofit organization.

In-kind donations are non-cash gifts that can include time, services and physical goods. Forms of volunteering can be considered in-kind donations, if they offer a specialized skill. Our corporation has many needs and opportunities for in-kind or service donations. For more information or to determine if your in-kind gift is accepted by the corporation, please contact our Foundation Director.

Legacy donations, also known as planned gifts, are a great way to provide long-term, sustainable funding. These will provide support for an extended period, potentially years or even decades. Legacy donations take many forms, including annuities, several kinds of trusts, and bequests made through wills.

Please contact us if you have an interest in setting up a legacy donation.

Some employers offer gift-matching programs for donations made to nonprofit organizations. This can make your gift reach even further and have a strong impact. Check with your organizations’ HR to learn if you are eligible for employer matching donations.

Please acknowledge employer match when donating to ensure connection between employee and employer donation.
